Is your mouth uncontrollably watering yet? Don’t be embarrassed! Thinking about the sight and wonderful aroma of having one of those entrees in front of you right now? I know I am. Here’s why you can have each and every one of those dishes (Oh, God! And, so many more!) every night for dinner – Gourmet Station.
Aiming to put un sabroso bit of heaven on earth, Gourmet Station found its beginning when Donna Lynes
Miller looked at the dishes her family’s personal chef was creating. “Why shouldn’t this be available to
anyone at any time?” she thought. And voila, the idea for Gourmet Station was born.
Begun in 2000, Gourmet Station is a fully grown adult now, sporting a fully mature menu to boot! In my opinion, one of their best offerings are the 5 Day Meal Plans which allow you to choose a week’s worth of entrees with the click of a button. Dearie, I’m warning you to be prepared to be swept off your feet, for these are not your mother’s TV dinners with choices like chicken saltimboca, seasoned peking duck breast, fusion beef short ribs, and medici renaissance pork.
Already catching the upscale eye of Business Week and “Good Morning, America”, the Gourmet Station won the hearts of the experienced critics from the magazine and the television show, and now has begun to woo fans across the nation. So, while Gourmet Station delivered exclusively for businesses and special occasions in its first years, finally, finally, finally they are shipping their ethereal eats to regular consumers like you and me!
What really sets this company apart are three things: exceptional quality, variety of options, and ease of use. The quality of the food is so high that Julie Gordon of Business Week remarked, “The soups, fish and meat dishes, baguettes, sides, and desserts truly taste like they come from a top restaurant.” Indeed, the Gourmet Station has much more than just great names for its fabulous dishes. What restaurant do you know, let alone gourmet food service, that carries golfing great Greg “The Shark” Norman’s Wagyu Top Sirloin Steaks? Comparable, if not better, than Japan’s kobe beef, the Wagyu beef is procured from cows of the Darling Downs in Australia and is absolutely tender.
Need a romantic dinner? Got it. Anniversary dinner? Got it. Corporate dinner? You’re covered. A “Thinking of You” dinner? No problem. Want a French baguette to accompany that beef marsala? Can do. Not a baguette fan? Then you’ll definitely appreciate the Italian boule, the sourdough boule or the Romano round. I think that you get the point. Not only does top quality drive the Gourmet Station, but variety does as well. They have a variety of soups – mushroom, tomato basil, lobster bisque, rustic beef stew, and quite a few more. Panang shrimp, mushroom purse, reuben & crabcakes, plus a large handful of others round out the appetizer possibilities. Then, there are the entrees – salmon alfredo, stuffed quail, lamb shank, chicken montrachet, and more. Need I continue? I thought so. The desserts are divine and devilish at the same time, as all desserts should be. Over five types of cheesecake, cookie choices that range from nutty to amaretto, mousses, and crème brulee are just some of the choices there. Oh, and teas and coffees, too. Please, forgive me; I don’t know how my fantasies of overindulgence allowed me to leave anything off!
Now, if you are a person (like moi) pressed for time, but want to enjoy the top notch, savory meal which you deserve, then the best part of Gourmet Station is the ease of use. They’ve already categorized their fare by cuisine, so whether you’re in the mood for Tuscan, Fusion, Parisian, Cajun, Americana or International food, it’s already been grouped accordingly.
Last, but certainly not least, are the little touches that mean so much. The old adage “the devil is in the details” doesn’t apply here; Gourmet Station has dotted every “i” and crossed every “t”. They stand by their product with the most solid guarantee of freshness, quality and taste in the business. And, to put the glassa on the cake, each and every dinner comes with an Old World greeting card, to remind you that you are about to enjoy food that is uniquely special.
With the Gourmet Station around, who needs to go out? Heck, who needs heaven? You can have it delivered to your door!
