BALDING? THINNING HAIR?…I CAN HELP!

by olympia on January 26, 2009

Hello everyone,

Hair loss is a big problem with our clients in the salon nowadays. Most complain about how thin their hair seems to be. Lifeless hair, no body, lack of shine and of course, male pattern baldness. I freely give advice when asked, I tell most of my clients to up their water intake to about 3 liters a day, get on a vitamin/supplement regime, sleep more and exercise. Just that little bit of advice can stimulate the hair follicle and can regenerate the hair and scalp. But lets face some hard facts: environmental pollutants take a toll on our bodies, our air and food is often times toxic, genetics also plays a leading role in hair loss, and lets not forget our diet: rich in saturated fats and preservatives thanks to the greedy food industry that tries hard to brainwash us into eating more and more garbage. All those and more are factors of hair loss and thinning hair. Please don’t get me started on what STRESS can do to your hair and system over all.

Okay, back to my clients. I get asked all the time “Olympia, am I going bald?” I answer, “No, you are just getting a little thin.” I always chuckle at this exact same reply, “what do you mean by thin?” Men hate to hear such words. Balding men will do anything to keep hair on their head. They have hair transplant surgery(painful and expensive); Rogaine treatments(bad for the heart); topical creams/ointments(bogus at best); all kinds of snake oil cures and massages. It is exhausting!!! But recently a product has come to my attention that I think is worth a shot. It is called Hair Max Laser-comb, developed in Australia, I think. I found out about it from a client of mine whose hair transplant surgeon had used it on him to complement the procedure.

The Hair Laser-comb uses laser photo therapy to increase blood circulation and stimulate the hair follicles. I have seen what light spectrum lasers can do myself.I have studied hair under polarized light at the Biosthetics Institute in France. Lasers or class 3R focused lasers generate 9 beams of red spectrum light into the scalp, thus increasing cellular metabolism/activity into a localized area. As a result of this, it increases the action of ATP(adenosine thiophosphate) a molecule that is a carrier of energy from one site to another. CONFUSED? Sorry about that medical terminology, but it does help to know what the heck that red light is doing to your scalp. IT STIMULATES HAIR GROWTH. The company says that 90% of the people that use it see an increase in growth and restored volume.

They seem to be ISO quality assured. The hand held device is made in the USA. The FDA has cleared them for consumer safety and for the promotion of hair growth in males with Androgenic Alopecia. The price is $545 USD for the Premium Model (buy this), the other unit is less potent. If you spend on a laser, do get the premium one, I think it will work better. Use it 3x a week for about 10-15 minutes. It takes about 8 weeks to see full results, so be patient. Get $50 off the HairMax LaserComb Premium at HairMax.com! Also, please use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, it will also make a huge difference (no need for petrochemicals on your scalp)

There you have my professional advice on hair loss and balding. On a personal note, I have this to say on what seems to be true for WOMEN. Men need to understand that women do not love them for their HAIR. Trust me, when I tell you, that it’s what is between your ears, your legs and in your bank account. NOT WHAT’S ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD.
