Hello Everyone,
It has been a Wild Spring in the salon, clients have been coming in and the long hair cuts just dont work any more. I hear it all day long “what should I do with my hair ? ” That is not an easy one to answer, not because we hair stylists do not have ideas, trust me we do, its because the new look should be easy for you to do at home AND make you look good . So I have compiled a list of the most popular hair cuts and styles for this season. If you are thinking of a new spring makeover , I do hope this list will help:
HOT HAIR TRENDS
1. SHORT HAIR CUTS as in a crop with simple lines, tons of texture, and a long side fringe to add interest and spunk. Keep in mind that a short crop can be changed from tom boy straight to curly and wavy by just using a bit of gel or pomade. A few well placed foils around the fringe to add dimension to the new cut should do the trick. A good haircut should’nt break the bank, and at Miracles Salon we strive for value AND style.

2. SHORT LAYERED BOBS Think of a page boy bob but with tons of razor cutting in the back/sides and a bit of a soft wave around the face. Clean fundamental lines infused with the fluid razor strokes. A pastel or ice brown color gloss makes this hair cut free spirited and perfect for warm weather. We have also been doing a rich dark red color base with cinnamon and honey high and low lights that is out of this world delicious. What is also DELICIOUS is the price for womens haircuts….$30. The price DOES include the blowdry ladies.

3. MULTIDIMENTIONAL COLOR The Colorista’s in the salon have been going crazy with this seasons latest trends:The Spring Collection haircolor is multidimentional, richer, based on the colors of nature herself-chestnuts ,auburns, caramels, brandys, and cool blondes to awaken the senses. We have developed a process to do everything at once: color the base, lowlights and highlights which not only saves time but saves the hair from dryness and double processing. Miracles is having a Spring Special Coupon which you can access from www.miraclesinthecity.com/beauty-product-coupon.html

4. NATURAL TEXTURES As in lovable mop tops, are huge with men’s haircuts this season, especially the well groomed kind. The inspiration comes from the urban music scene AND the techno savy hipsters in our town. Our men haircuts start at $20…..cutting edge WITHOUT the attitude.

5. CHIC CHIGNONS As an attempt to escape todays abysmal economy, Stylista’s are going back in time and creating chic chignons from the 1920’s and 1930’s era. The updos are classic and yet with shades of the extreme: Boxy, rolls, embellished and a little bit of “I have a hangover from last night” . We…at the salon call it :mixed media updo. A Very fresh look for Proms.

Well thats about it for Spring Hair: Cut it short, add a fringe, enhance the color and dont be afraid to evolve and change. Remember that beauty is skin deep and hair DOES GROW BACK ! Hello everyone,
It has been a long day and its only 1:14 pm. Seems to me that when chaos rules, there is only one thing to do: GET ON A PLANE TO NEW YORK CITY. The salon air conditioning system is down, the boy’s father wants a DNA test (great defense for not paying child support), I have just broken the car tail light backing out of the driveway, and Ihave spent the last 20 minutes (while on the phone) looking for the darn phone.
CAN YOU TELL THAT I AM STRESSED ?
So, I was so very glad that a friend of mine is having his art exhibit in New York tommorow. Meet Marko Panas everybody. www.markopanas.com This young talented man will be at the Mark Hachem Gallery on Madison Ave & 77 th St. Marko uses fire to RULE over CHAOS………my kind of man. The kind of man that challenges nature and the elements, knowing full well that he can never control them .

Marko Panas, Untitled 2008
This artist is full of energy and spark(excuse the pun) so if you are in the area ,go and see him, you will not regret it. Besides………we all need a little fire in our lives …dont we? www.artslant.com/global/artists/show/48983-marko-panas

Hello Everyone,
A very happy spring to all. May is my favorite month of the year, all the senses seem to be running on full blast, and I cannot wait to get a new cut, color and a spring purse and shoes. I also like to discover new places to see and be seen -in ( wearing my new purse,of course).
I think that I have found this place, and its all because of this lovely young lady that came into the salon to get her hair done.Meet Christiana Sargent , she is the assistant general manager of Domaso Tratoria, the restaurant at Hotel Palomar at Waterview at 1121 N. 19th Street, 4th floor. For reservations call 703-351-1211. www.domasotrattoria.com
Christiana, is also the Beverage Director for the awesome little wine shop in the lobby level of the Hotel Palomar. We Greeks love wine, but our selection is a little limited, with Retsina being the favorite of most Greeks that I know. So I cornered Christiana and asked her about a hundred questions about her favorite wines and food. Let me tell you that the girl has it all together and is very passionate about her craft….I was impressed. The Hotel Palomar has made a fine choice in her. I also asked her what her favorite dinner -for- two is( think sexy) and if Massimo De Francesca ,the chef, is single.( Not only can the man cook;he is gorgeous) Forget it girls……he is married. But Christiana did give me a lovely dinner menu, here it is.
Appetizer:
Lobster salad with crab meat and shaved fennel served with a lobster cream sauce
Champagne Couvee St Anne
Cod fritters with horseradish cream aiolli
Roanne River White
Main Course:
Braised Short Ribs
Yukon Gold mash potatoes
Basil/siso sauce
Desert:
Sweet and savory chocolate tart with espresso sauce
Coffee ice cream
topped with(get this) a crumble of Blue Cheese
Christianna tels me that her favorite chocolate is AMADE’E a brother/sister company based in Tuscany, that is out of this world. They have a Fruit bar made out of dried cherries, rasberies and dark chocolate, that you should pair with a sparkling Shiraz from Australia called Paringa.
The must try new wine is Mark Tente from Alsace .The company follows the Farmers Almanac,is Bio-dynamic, organic, and the Pinot Blanc vines produce an almost surreal amber-gold colored wine with some frisante.Wow…is this girl a great Somalier or what? Go see Christiana, tell her I sent you. Sit at the terrace and look out at our amazing city and have a drink. Life is short my friends, live it and be happy. Turn off the news channel and stop stressing. Trust me when I tell you that we really have no control over fate.
SWINE FLU ? …..WHAT SWINE FLU ? GO LIVE EVERYBODY AND HAPPY MAY DAY TO YOU.
