About

Hello,

My name is Olympia Hantzopoulos, and welcome to my blog. I own Miracles Salon In Arlington, Virginia– http://www.miraclesinthecity.com . This site is about the salon and the stories and people that visit and work there. I would have liked to call it “Groumer has it”, but that name is taken.

Here is my secret: I do not know how to copy and paste. Until the website people updated us, the previous site we had was made by my (born in my heart) son Fredy. I think I bought him a watch from ebay for doing it for me.

I never thought that I needed an online presence; I had my loyal clients, my little corner business, and, since God is my source, not man, I made an honest living making people feel and look good.

So, I worked hard, put my girls through college and when the youngest, Voula graduated, she gave me a huge bolt; Instead of Law School she asked for the keys to the store. She said “mom hand them over, enough is enough, give me the store and go play in your garden” I relented and gave her the keys. Here I was, for the first time in my life………jobless.

It lasted about six months; I went insane. I must have changed the furniture around eight times, painted the front door twice, became a craigslist addict (love it) overnight. The more time I spent online, the smarter I got. I researched everything I’ve ever wanted to know. I even found a first cousin (George) in Australia, that I did not know existed on Facebook.

Then it dawned on me……….I wanted my own website. Not just any site, I wanted to pick up my lovely salon, with all its quirks and craziness, and post it on the net. Easier said than done. Those poor people at Weblyfe Media were so lost in translation with me. But, we did it! It took six months and it was worth it. We have managed to capture what we do at the store; we create, we share, we gossip, we reccomend, we laugh, we cry, and we inspire.

The site is a place for cool stuff. Every item has a link to an online shop where you can purchase it. There are stories, articles, banners, commentary, information and when available, online coupons that I will pass on to you.

Please send me an email with comments, suggestions, stories, rants, raves, events, happenings and local gossip. Washington D.C , is a wonderfull city, I am grateful that I live here. They say that we are not as fashionable as other cities………..I disagree. We will post pictures of the most fashionable and hip people in our town. You will see for yourselves how diversified, cultured, and sexy our town really is.

Are you beginning to see that I now have a job? I still cannot copy and paste, but thats ok, life is a learning process……….is it not?

Well what I can testify to is that you are full of life and love. By the way you always knew Voula was an old soul what did you expect. Both girls were gonna grow up one day and take care of mommy! They were always affectionate and kind that’s for sure. I have missed you guys. It’s funny how I found this site today! I was sitting in my living room typing olympic in my laptop to get some info so I type olympia by mistake and there I had your site pop up! I have attached my e-mail definitely keep in touch. By the way I have moved to Europe and I love love it here ;-)
Please big kisses to the kids and yourself. You jobless? NEVER!

Hi, Olympia!
Your website is very nice…Congrats!
Copying & Pasting is simple and easy. you probably already know how to.
In Microsoft WORD, you simply hold down and pass your cursor over the word [phrase, or paragraph] you wish to c+p to highlight & select it, press CTRL+C, and then go over to wherever you wish to paste it, and click CTRL+V. Alternatively, you can right click after selecting like above and in the drpdown options select ‘copy’ and the go to wherever you wish to paste and then right click to ’select ‘Paste’ from the drop down options. Try it a few times. It is very easy.
I will see you tomorrow morning at 10AM.
Molly
In PDF [Protable Document File] it is a bit different-they give you select tool and you select and copy at once and when you go to where you wish to paste you simply select ‘paste.’
