Straw Market
I just recently I came back from a cruise to the Bahamas with my college roommate, Lindsay, for her birthday celebration. This mammoth boat docked on the sunny port of Nassau, Bahamas. Growing up, I had fond memories of the snorkeling, conch fritters and best of all, the straw market. I’m an enthusiast of local artisans and the crafts that they create, which is unique to each country you visit. Anyway, after a day of snorkeling I was ecstatic to go to the straw market and make my eclectic purchases of gifts to take back home. I didn’t know that my afternoon of retail therapy would soon go sour. [click to continue…]

Oh the days of Glamour!
As I rush out my front door every morning, it’s a challenge to spend hours in front of the bathroom mirror to be up to par with the women from decades past. OH, how nice to be in a silk robe, a fresh cup of hot coffee, and dozens of hot rollers in my hair while I carefully apply my make-up. The retro women of the 50’s and 60’s always left the house put together, and never, ever with wet hair. GHASTLY! Ladies, what is wrong with us?HISTORY is supposed to repeat itself, so, lets repeat what the women decades ago did: TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES! [click to continue…]

I went from long black locks halfway down my back to a short, ultra-blond coiffe. Let me tell you that is a huge change. Not only did I change the length of my hair drastically, but I also change the color to the opposite extreme. Friends, family and even clients would walk past me and not recognize me. A client once asked, “who is the new girl?” (Don’t believe me? Scroll down, that’s me!) Changing your hair drastically can be a scary, scary thing. I always believe that you should take risks, and when given the opportunity, you should take calculated risks! [click to continue…]

Don’t be caught this fall looking passé! There is nothing worse than going through those long winter months looking frumpy and out of style. Make sure your look is up to par with a great coat, a structured blazer and a couple of cute sweaters. Who else knows fashion like the Brits and their fashion icons: Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Mrs. Posh Spice. Linea Pelle Bag
The days are getting shorter and colder, and everyone wants to look cute for fall. The three most important must haves for fall are a killer coat, knock-out boots and a purse with a statement. After you have those three accomplished, the rest of the wardrobe falls into place. My mother always told me that the shoes and the purse should always be expensive, and everything else won’t matter. Today, let’s talk about bags. As a fashion lover, let me point you in the right direction for fall ‘08. [click to continue…]

Have you ever wondered what kind of miracle potion celebrities like Heidi Klum, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Aniston used on their faces to make them look so ageless and blemish free? I personally have tried hundreds of skin care lines from Neutrogena to Dermalogica to Sisley. And still, I couldn’t find something that really worked and didn’t put a huge dent in my wallet. A few years ago we took a trip from Greece to Morocco. When presented with the idea to go, I wasn’t enthusiastic about leaving Greece for Morocco. I had just met my summer fling and I was having the time of my life (the guy turned out to be one of my distant cousins but that is a story for another day).
Anyway, after a lot of kicking and screaming, I went along. I never expected to fall completely in love with the country and the people, but I did. My most memorable experience was travelling to an ocean-side town named Essaouira. [click to continue…]

Keith unceremoniously plopped his body down with a thud. As he leaned back in the restaurant booth, he tilted his head back and sighed.
“Arrgh,” he said, “I can see why I struck out with Ellen again. I feel like a total loser right now” [click to continue…]
